I'll be going to Disneyworld(land? the one in florida) in january, and doing one of those !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is an option. Due to the pricing on the Ferrari's and Lambo's, I'm really only considering the Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 S. Which one do you guys think is going to be a bigger hoot? I'm not sure if they let you launch it, and if they do I'm thinking that alone would make the GT-R the funner choice.

Thoughts?

Yes, Disneyworld is the one in Florida. Disneyland is the one in California.

And the answer is always Miata :p

I'd rather drive a GT-R, since I think it'd be less likely to try to kill me.

There is no miata option.

I did the one in Vegas in a 458 and Gallardo Superleggera, and I can imagine, similar to mine, they will keep ALL of the driving aids and electronics on. Like all of them. In my case, it was still amazing and I was amazed you could throw those cars into a corner at the speeds I did and not crash. Plus the exhaust notes and acceleration were ridiculous.

Therefore, GT-R. If you're going to drive something with electronic controls on, drive the one that's known for being awesome at it. If it was 911 Turbo, well that's different I suppose. But my goal with a 911 would to get that ass to rotate, which they probably frown upon.

Regardless, have fun, take pics, write about it!

I did a ride along there in the Lamborghini Superleggera. I didn't stop smiling for weeks. Seriously. It was an incredible experience. Walked in, signed up for the Lambo (Originally asked for the 458, but they don't offer ride alongs in that because maintenance cost are high) and waited less then an hour. There's a little deck area where you can watch all the cars drive by.

Then it was my turn. The best part about a professional driver driving you around? They know how to drive. I'm not about to write a whole essay, but it was insane. As for what car you should pick? No idea. The 911 might be more involved and fun to drive, but the GTR is a lot faster. Have fun and let us know how it goes!

Maybe I'll try for both the drive and a ride along, I'll have to see.

The drive along is just over 100 dollars. If you have the extra money, I would definitely do it.

If you take the GTR, just make sure you don't break your neck on a corner.

I moved your jezebel post over to your private blog and out of oppo. There are places to complain about stuff like this, but Oppo isn't one of them. Try Cigar Lounge if you would like. We, the mods, have no beef with your opinion on the matter but cross posting this kind of things doesn't jibe with our rules. Thanks.

I'd like to clarify this. Bringing a topic like this to Oppo isn't strictly verboten... and I'd be a hypocrite if I said it was. When I reposted the racism article I did so thusly:

http://backtalk.kinja.com/the-racism-tha…

What we really want to control is that topics of this nature are very clearly labelled and not directly displayed on the FP. This stuff effects a lot of us.

Similarly, when the Disney dick defense piece was shared to GT, I replaced the share with one which prefaced it for the community it was being shared to: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/in-defense-of-…

Be very mindful of the community and how we present information. And lets try to all get along.

(I've responded to both Hammerhead and to Sir Stig with the same comment)

So if I have labelled it clearly, do I then go and change the post date so that it shows up off the front page? Or is there a different way of doing that?

Kinja'd!!! Gamecat235 > Sir_Stig: and toxic masculinity ruins the party again.

Kinja'd!!!1

Here are my thoughts, label and share it so that nothing appears on the FP other than a warning regarding what the topic is and maybe (your discretion) why you feel (in general, non-inflammatory, terms) that it should be shared. Keep in mind what will be seen from the front page. To accomplish this, it might be easier to unshare, and then share again.

(sorry, I've been VERY busy at work today, so I'm not exactly timely with my responses).

Hammerhead is correct in that there may be other venues which are more appropriate for this conversation, but I don't want to discourage any and all debate on Oppo either. I just really want to make sure that anyone who gets into the conversation knows full well what they are getting into.

Thanks for the input. Was the Zonda article set up properly? I don't really want to post things on cigar lounge, as I feel like even that name is pretty loaded. How does one even find cigar lounge, unless you know that it exists? it doesn't show up in the sub blog lists.

I'd rather have had a "buffer" paragraph which precedes the rest of the information. But by the time I saw it, I was busy and didn't have the spare time to respond with this feedback and it had already been there for a while.

Something like this better?

This post will be discussing some sensitive and controversial topics I feel need to be aired out, if you just want to talk about cars, this is not the post for you. Here is the lovely Zonda Uno as a FP consolation prize.

I may even mention that it concerns the topics around "Gamergate", but not go deeper than that. An indication of what the sensitive topic is, is a good thing, but opinions within the portion on the FP is really what I want to avoid. Basically, I want the approach to be neutral until someone opts in. =)
